Looking at the life of Lee Lorch – a towering figure in the history of anti-racism in Canada and the US. Lee Lorch (September 20, 1915 – February 28, 2014) was a mathematician and an early civil rights activist. He taught at several Black colleges encouraging black students to pursue studies in mathematics and supervising several of the first black men and women to earn PhDs in mathematics in the United States before moving to Canada. He ended his career as Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at York University in Toronto, Canada.
