TODAY’S SHOW Host: Irwin Oostindie @DutchPhoto

01:00 Introduction, local and international news, and weather. The #Ghomeshi trial and audio from yesterday’s street protests and more.

17:15 Jenn Meeropol on the #ExonerateEthel Rosenberg campaign to bring justice for her grandmother’s killing by the US government.  A petition is asking President Obama to exonerate Ethel Rosenberg. Ethel and her husband Julius were executed during the anti-communist hysteria of the Cold War era. But Ethel was not a spy, and her execution was wrongful. Today, we face a similar climate of hatred which targets immigrants, Muslims, LGBTQI individuals and others. Jenn is the Executive Director of the Rosenberg Fund for Children.

31:15 MUSIC: Rolling Stones ‘NeoCon’ – the Stones play a free concert today in Cuba for 200,000 people.

33:00 Cindy Blackstock talks with mediaINDIGENA on the Canadian budget and what is or isn’t in it for Indigenous children and families. #cdnpoli #Budget2016

43:00  Aiyanis Ormond talk about the Canadian Air Transportation Security Authority (CATSA) contracting with Israeli security giant G4S for ‘security services’ at 20 Canadian airports including YVR. G4S is contracted by the Israeli Prison Service for security at Occupation prisons, settlements and checkpoints. We talk about G4S and the boycott Divestment Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, and war crimes in Palestine. Plus we hear Naomi Klein‘s voice on why she supports the BDS movement. Regret we were unable to connect audio to Khalil Mansour this morning.

55:30 Preview of Saturday’s 4:30-6pm Land Defenders Facing State Repression Rally at the No Site-C hunger strike location on 333 Dunsmuir. We hear from Sage Birley who grew up in the Peace Valley and is on hunger strike to protest the BC govt and BC Hydro decision. #bcpoli #noSiteC
